First Open Summer School-Seminar “Achievements and Applications of Contemporary Informatics, Mathematics and Physics” (“AACIMP-2006”) was held at National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (NTUU “KPI”) during August 6th – 20th, 2006. It was organized by Students’ Science Association of NTUU “KPI” (SSA NTUU “KPI”).
People who work in perspective branches of modern science gathered there to share their knowledge and ideas with students and to communicate with colleagues. Extending knowledge of the youth, popularization of new technologies and ideas that are not studied in university and search for new contacts in the scientific world were the aims of Summer School.
Scientists from , , Holland and (G.-W.Weber, B. Goldengorin, R.Tikidgi-Hamburyan, I.Samoylenko, A. Makarenko, V. Melnyk and others) gave lectures about the most interesting achievements of contemporary science and their applications in the modern world for the listeners of Summer School. The main topics of the lectures dealt with applied mathematics, contemporary technical developments in information technologies and concepts of modern nature sciences. Here are some of them: Generalized Semi-infinite Optimization of Generic Networks, Optimal Control of Singular Perturbed Infinite Systems, Tolerances and Data Correcting Based Algorithms in Combinatorial Optimization, Attractors of Evolutional Equalizations without Only Decision, Problems of Theory of the Optimum Management Tasks Meanings, Quantum Mechanics, Synergetic Study of the Brain Dynamics, Geoinformation Systems, High Performance Computing.
Students and post-graduates were highly interested in all the lectures, asked their questions and had a possibility to discuss them either in formal or in informal atmosphere. Accept lectures and seminars two round table discussions were conducted: during one of them students, post-graduates and scientists had an opportunity to discuss their last works, achievements and ideas; the other one was dedicated to Physical Cybernetics – the topic of the book written by academician of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine I.Samoylenko. SSA NTUU “KPI” also organized interesting cultural program for all participants.
Importance of Summer School-Seminar was confirmed by the sponsorship and lectures of such world famous companies working with information technologies as Microsoft, Intel, Siemens, Cisco Systems, Novell.
“AACIMP-2006” was one of the first steps in complementary technical education of . We are grateful to all participants of Summer School-Seminar “Achievements and Applications of Contemporary Informatics, Mathematics and Physics” and invite everyone who is interested in these topics to visit next Summer School that will be held in 2007.
